Just put her inside and don't let her out anymore. That's what I did with my cat. She was an outdoor cat for 2 years and then I got wise and didn't want her to be killed by coyotes. I just brought her in one day and didn't let her go back out. Granted, you have to watch out because every time we opened the door she would try and book it!

Yes figure out a way to keep your cat inside. Apartment comlexes are very unsafe for cats.

Has your cat been spayed?  If not, please get her spayed and she may adjust better to living indoors.

I agree with the above poster in saying dont let her outside again.  I adopted a cat off of my husbands employee that was outdoors - even had a litter box on their porch.   I never let her out once I got her and she seems not to be missing it.

if you add some fun play to your cat's life. Most cat's love a chase and bounce toy and it doesn't need to be anything fancy. A thing on a string will do, just put it out of reach when done so she doesn't eat the string.

Good daily play will help her settle in fast.

Keep us posted!

The only thing you can do is make sure the cat doesn't get out again.  I have 2 cats which we were letting out occasionally.  We have since decided that it's much safer to keep them inside ALL the time.  They still try to get out, but the peace of mind is worth it.  I continue to hope that they will get over it and stop trying and begging to get out.  We love our pets way too much to take a chance on losing them to dogs or whatever else they could get into outside.  We wish you the best of luck.

Are you allowed to have more than one pet at your apartment?  She may get bored as an indoor cat, and having a playmate will help that.  Keeping them indoors is definitely best.  Between predators, cars, and diseases, it's just not safe to be an outdoor kitty.

I have an indoor/outdoor cat that needs a new home.  I've found one, but she wants to keep her inside all the time.  Will this make the cat "crazy" or do you think she will adjust?
