there are more pics posted on my profile:)
cute kitten. Some what of a familiar story to the kitten that came to our front porch on Saturday around 11pm very hungry cold and dirty. We also fell in love w/ him. He's almost fully white w/ what seems to be orange colored at the top of his body only. Probably 2-3 months as well. He is so skinny you can feel his bones and even see them!!!
As for her not eating...shes probably scared. I know my first kitten (now 4 1/2 months old) he was like that when we found him stuck underneath a car. He was scared. Sleeping a lot. Not eating. We had to bottle feed him. I would also recommend you go buy cat/kitten milk (same thing for both) & feed her that in a small bottle. Shouldnt cost you more than $5. I know petsmart has Whiskas Cat/Kitten milk cheap. We had to somewhat force our first kitten to take the milk bc he would refuse. Hours after having milk, he would go pee & was up and about.
HTH, good luck
Awww- She looks just like my Lucy when she was a baby- She was and still is a yowly kitty- can get annoying. Also- Watch out for the big ears. With Lucy it meant she is a hunter- bugs, mice, baby bunnies, kitty toys- she even takes her toy mice outside to play- what a nut.
oh....i know it souns odd...but her name is "tea" :)
about an hour after i posted i tried to feed her again...she finally ate but i had to put it in her mouth...im guessing she was strictly titty fed. so its like i'm teaching her how to eat. thanks so much for the responses and kind words. i think i'm on the right track now although i'm taking a risk here...lol im allergic to cats. she was just too cute to turn down:) what can i say....im a sucker for a pretty face lol
I found that when I fostered little kitties, they really liked baby food -- meat types - the little jars of turkey, or veal. I didn't feed it to them for a long time, just until they acclimated to their new environment.
I think you are a doll for adopting this little one who needs your help.
In fact, I still give it to my cats & dogs when they don't feel well.
Good luck!

You said the kitten is well fed, right? She probably isn't eating because you're most likely not feeding her what she is used to eating. Some cats will reject food changes. Cats are creatures of habit and hate it when something changes.
About the constant meowing, she is probably still calling her mother or previous owners. When I adopted my cat he was still living with his brothers. That night I brought him home we couldn't sleep. The cat kept crying all night long and the next morning. It helped a little that I bought the same food he had been eating, and he totally loved his new big blue litter box, and the fact that he didn’t have to share a tiny litter box. He would only be quiet when eating that night. I was at work the next day literally holding my eyes opened and slapping my face to keep myself awake and aware. I believe I drank about 6 cups of coffee. She will get used to being with you faster than you think. For now, she still misses her mom. Give her some time to adjust.
She is a cutie. What are you going to name her?
ty,
i have tried water, soft canned kitty food, and cooked tuna. she just looks away
It could just be she's exhausted, although I'm surprised she isn't eating. I'd suggest picking up some cat milk or trying some cooked chicken to see if you can tempt her. If that doesn't do the trick, then there's a chance kitty is ill and will likely need to go to the vet.
From what I can see, it's a beautiful kitten. Congat's on the find. :)
