my felv/fiv negative unneutered 5 mos. kitten has swollenSwollen glands glands. he eats and acts normally. the only unusual thing
he does is cough after drinking water. I have had his heart listened to 2 mos. ago and it was seemingly normalNormal saline flush.

Lymphadenitis is a common cause. This is inflammation of the lymph nodes that will occure when there is a nearby infection, like if the cat's gums are infected.
Whatever the exact diagnosis, the swelling you are talking about is caused by infection or nearby infection. Should be easily treatable but it does require a vet visit right away.
