Can you feel better off your gluten free diet?

Hello,

I am a 20 year old and was diagnosed with celiac disease two years ago. I was on a strict diet, but was always in pain. I had a colonoscopy and had two large polyps removed. They were not cancerous. I went off my diet and felt a hundred times better. I have recently went back onto my diet just to see if I would not have pain this time. Since I have been on my diet I have noticed that I am often in pain, and it looks like there is oil when I take a bowel movement. If I have confirmed celiac disease why do I feel better off my diet, and now having problems....

I have been reading the celiac. com forum and finding some good info. You might want to post your question there:

What are you eating while gluten-free?  Lots of fruits and veggies? More than when you're not? What do you change in your diet besides gluten when you switch?

I don't know, but you might want to have your gallbladder checked.  Celiac disease seems to cause gallbladder problems.  Maybe when you are eating GF you are getting too much fat, or eating something else that upsets your gallbladder.  That's kind of what your symptoms sound like to me.
