Gluten Free Diet

If I wanted to eliminate gluten from my diet, how long would I have to do this to see if it makes any difference in eliminating some symptoms (eg, bloating, slight nausea) that I am having? Thanks!

Hi! I don't have the exact answer for me it took several weeks but I wasn't eliminating correctly. I would think if you do it correctly you should notice feeling better within a week or so. Does anyone have any better answer that has Celiac's?

Thanks. I am hoping that I should see some differences (if any) by Labor Day.

2 weeks minimum. I would actually recommend going for at least 3 or 4 weeks without gluten.

I noticed a difference immediately. Not all my symptoms went away, but the intensity diminished significantly within two days or so and it just gradually kept getting better. If you truly stay gluten free you should see a complete relief from your symptoms in a month, but it's different for everyone. I'm sure, though, you'll be feeling a lot better by Labor Day.

Hi, initially you should see a difference within the first week but not all of your symptoms will disappear completely that quickly.  Research states that it takes 2 weeks for the gluten that is in your body to be eliminated completely, as for how long it takes for the villi to begin working again I'm not sure.

Hope this helps.
