What type of doctor should I see?

I have mild spastic cp. I'm in my mid 30's but haven't seen a doctor for my cp since I was a toddler living in a different state. Anyhow, I want to start getting treatments for my spasms because they've gotten a bit worse over the past few years. Also, I'm starting to get arthritis in multiple joints and my legs aren't holding up as well as they used to, and I'm just hurting all over pretty much. It's starting to get pretty unbearable. I need to get onto some kind of treatment plan to get my body back to working shape again. What type of doctor should I go see for this? How does this kind of stuff work? What do I need to do?

Hi. The first thing you need to do is to seek medical help. Cerebral Palsy is a group of non-progressive disorders in which disease of the brain causes impairment of motor function. The fixed action patterns and involuntary spasms could affect the status of the bones, joints, immunity and psyche and may require the assistance of physical therapists, neurologists, psychologists and nutritionists to address these problems. You may also ask the help of cerebral palsy support groups (e.g. united cerebral palsy) to shed you some insights on different treatment plans and coping strategies. Hope this helps.
