Hi,
Children who have cerebral palsy are noted to have seizures.
These seizures are controlled with help of anti-epileptics. Common anti-epileptics are enough to help in controlling seizures.
Anti-epileptics like phenobarbitone or phenytoin can be started according to weight of the child.
I think you should be consulting a Pediatric neurologist if you have one around you or a neurologist.
A pediatrician would the best person to guide.
Hope this helps,
Bye.

My dear, you might as well be telling my story!  At least my son's seizures are under control now.  I have sent you a message into your inbox (Check "Mymedhelp") with the doctors name who finally managed to get the meds right.  My son is still on Epilim 15ml / day (600mg)  and Urbanol 5mg at night an still occasionally Rivotril.  But he was on Tegretol, Lamicten and Sabril as well.  At one stage he was on all of the above at once!!  It took 7 months to get them under control.  I don't know how long you have been dealing with seizures, but we have decided that the odd seizure once in a while is better than having a severely doped up child.  If your daughter is anything like my son, the screaming is due to irritation.  In other words, take her back to the doctor and try another drug or another combination.  Lamicten worked well, but my son was on three tablets 12hourly eventually.  He seemed to build a tolerance.  Good luck.

Hi, I see you are not a member so I can't send you a message (or I don't know how to otherwise).  Become a member so I can send you the doctors names that you can also try.

You need to look into GI problems that are common in CP and other conditions with low or high tone.  Reflux and constipation are very common and would cause a lot of pain.

You are living my life!  My son was also doing this screaming for 4 straight months (He is 8 months now).  I was told it was neurological irritability.  I took him to the ped neurologist and he asked ME why he was doing that.  He said it was NOT a neuro issue.  Long story short, it was all GI.  They started him on pepcid twice a day, Miralax for constipation and Mylanta and he is a different baby.  When he is irritable and give him the Mylanta, it is almost an instant relief.  Mylanta is OTC and can be given in very young low weight infants up to 6-8 times per day.  Hope this helps....
