i have a daughter with spastic quad cp and have just seen on the internet that stemcell cord blood is being used to treat cp. it is being done in america but i am in australia.  is there anywhere here i can go to find out more info

I have just taken my 2 year old son to a paediatric neurologist in Brisbane and we asked about stem cell therapy, here and oversea's.  Nothing here and he recommended not using the oversea one's as they are not reputable and not enough is known yet.  However I read today they are starting stem cell therapy on human trials in 3 months here in australia so here's hoping.

I was looking up some information and came across a web site. I like to know about the doctors that I am looking into so... I found this site www.quackwatch.com/06ResearchProjects/stemcell.html
I don't know what to think of it until I read more about what this person claims but... you can read it as well if you want. I know stem cell treatment(s) might work for my child, I just want to know that the doctor can do what he or she says they can do.
