AGCUS Pap result 1 year post LEEP

Doc suggested 1 year repeat pap smear. Does this sound right? Keep in mind this is the first pap smear since the LEEP one year ago. Missed my 4 month follow up exam. Everything I read is saying colposcopy? I am confused if anyone could shed some light on this for me I would be so thankful.
