Dr and ultrasound Tech could not find Uterus

Please help my mom 67yrs old went to Dr to have pap done . Has not had one in 6-7yrs. Uterus is tilted. Dr could not find her Uterus so sent her for ultrasound. Tech could not find it either. She had precancer cells 20 years ago and had some sort of acid treatment to burn them off. Why wouldn't they be able to find her uterus?
