I'm very scared

I'm very scared

I am 29 years old and for the past 2 1/2 years I have been bleeding (my period won't stop). I always bleed during and after sex. My boyfriend of seven years is begging me to go to the doctor. I some times get very bad cramps, bleed so heavy I have to change my tampon or pad every 15 min. I also get very big blood clots once in a while the size of a silver dollar. I am very scared to go to the doctor. I have thought of the worst things that could be wrong with me that I made my self scared. Any women ever had a problem like this???????? Please let me know. Thanks

You may not experience any cervical cancer symptoms — early cervical cancer generally produces no signs or symptoms. This is why regular screening is so important. As the cancer progresses, the following signs and symptoms of more advanced cervical cancer may appear:

    * Vaginal bleeding after intercourse, between periods or after menopause
    * Watery, bloody vaginal discharge that may be heavy and have a foul odor
    * Pelvic pain or pain during intercourse

When to see a doctor
If you experience any unusual bleeding between periods or pain during intercourse, make an appointment with your doctor.

Talk to your doctor about when to begin screening for cervical cancer, how often the screening needs to be done and when do you no longer need to be screened. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that girls have their first visit with an obstetrician-gynecologist between ages 13 and 15 to discuss sexual activity and ways to prevent sexually transmitted infections, including HPV.

The above info is from the Mayo Clinic, their web site is:

If I was in your shoes, I would go to a Gynecologist Oncologist as soon as possible. I can understand you are scared so was I but if you don't see a doctor you may regret it in a near future. The oncologist will probably do a colposcopy, a pap smear and if according to his trained eye it is necessary you ill also need a biopsy. The mentioned tests don't hurt at all but you will know for sure what is going on in your cervix. Don't take the risk of not knowing, it is quite dangerous to ignore your symptoms.

I hope the info helps.
