I am 42 years old and from my Biopsy and transvaginal and endovaginal pelvic ultrasounds, I was diagnosed as being Peri-menapausal. However, no one explained the remaining results on my file.
1)The specimen is received in formalin as "endometrium". It consists of tiny fragments of gray mucoid tissue, aggregated to 2.0 x.5 x 0.cm. Entirely submitted in one cassette.
2) Weakly Proliferative Endometrium
3) Tubal Metaplasia
4) Unremarkable Endocervical Mucosa
5) Complete Squamous Metaplasia
6) The Uterus measures 9.6 x 3.7 x 4.6 cm and demonstrates inhomogeneity.
7) The endometrial complex measures 8mm in thickness.
8) No discrete intrauterine mass is delineated.
9) Nabothian Cysts are seen in the cervical region.
10) Right Ovary measures 2.2 x 2.1 x 1.3 cm
11) Left Ovary measures 2.8 x 2.7 x 1.6 cm
12) There is no significant free fluid.
This sounds like more that just peri-menopause to me. Am I right? What does this all mean?
The report is not suggestive of any major abnormality. But to make the diagnosis, the report needs to be correlated with findings of clinical examination and your symptoms. Hope this helps.
Take care and good luck.
