I had a D&C because the miscarriage was incomplete. Now one of my ?'s is this... Did having the D&C unknowingly FURTHER accelerate my cervical cancer ?!?
2ndly... This is a rapid growth, My last PAP was negative in April 2009, My most recent pap was Sept 2009. How is it possible for it to go AWOL so quickly ?!? Is it true that the hormonal rush of pregnancy could have fuelled the rapid acceleration ?!?
3rdly I am a non~smoker, casual drinker. With no immediate relatives w/cervical cancer. (Maternal grandma and a 2nd cousin)
After the D&C, i had a series of infections... Several courses of Antibiotics both pillform and IV meds. During this time i was hospitalized and had a "punch" biopsy (I was sooo out of it and heavilly medicated I didn't know they had done this) Until I got the call w/the results...
Why am I still being told to have the colposcopy ?!? I was told that it is to make sure that is hasn't spread much further... But if it's a stage II why aren't they moving heaven and earth to treat it ?
I'm frustrated beyond explanation. I still have 3 weks til that appt... I've read up as much as I can online... But there is just too much to digest...
I'm hoping to hear your stories, good bad and otherwise
PS: perhaps unrelated, also experiencing lower back pain Radiating btwn my hips
swollen lymphnodes, underarms and left side of throat...
I am a bit confused... do you have HGSIL or Stage 2 cervical cancer? Was the HGSIL the first diagnosis and then stage 2 cancer diagnosed after your D&C... just trying to get my facts straight for my answer. Cuz HGSIL they would likely do a colposcopy and a LEEP. If it's Stage 2 cervical cancer that means that it has begun to lightly spread outside the cervix to surrounding tissue. You would need radiotherapy or surgery to stop it from spreading further.
If you feel that your dr's are not taking you seriously and it is indeed a stage 2 diagnosis, then I'd say you need to find a OBGYN that has experience with reproductive cancers and get their opinion.
I dont think the back pain is unrelated and swollen lymph nodes could mean the cancer is progressing or just that you have an infection.
