Worried

I'm so afraid! My daughter went to the gyn last week, and her pap came back with atypical cells, and also a positive hpv result. The thing that has me worried is that three years ago she had atypical cells, and a biopsy that came back negative. I suggested to her that she contact her old gyn, and have the office fax her records for the new doctor. I just got the fax, and found out that she had hpv three years ago. hpv strains 16, and 18 which are the bad ugly ones. I thought, and so did she that this hpv was a new diagnosis. Does anyone know anything about hpv, and cervical cancer? I'm so upset!

Please don't be upset, this happens to many women but it is urgent she is checked by a good Oncologist who has a trained eye to detect these issues. I hope your daughter listens to you.
