colposcopy

So I had a pap done a few weeks ago, and it came back abnormal. The Dr, thinks it could be moderete to severe dysplasia, and recommended a colposcopy. The thing is the only time to do that with gynecology (on post, im army) is October. Is it ok to wait this long? Should I be worried about having to wait? Could this progress that quickly?
