Selma posted a thread on jan 26th about the Driscoll theory. Driscoll talks about cases where a surgery is just part of the problem and where the symptoms subside with Diamox, sometimes in necessary combination with surgery. She spoke about EDS patients though.
Anyway, I think Diamox is worth a try. It reduces intracranial pressure and high intracranial pressure is the main thing that causes the chiari symptoms.
I would like to try it myself.
But of coarse, it is not sure that your symptoms are caused by this. But since all your migraine treatment has not worked, it is worth a try.
That whole "underlying that hasn't been addressed" idea has been nagging me too. Don't know what the heck it could be that wouldn't have been already discovered by now.
Any members out there with success post op? Bid love to hear from you !

Hi....I have not had a fusion to date, but I was told I would need one, with the neck exercises...
May I ask what other issues u had b4 ur fusion?
I know several that are doing well post op a fusion.....but everyone is different and it is possible u have something underlying that may not yet have been addressed.
Do you take any meds? Diamox?
