After Chiari decompression surgery

I had decompression surgery on Dec. 13th and everything went fine but I am still experiencing severe headaches - is anyone else still having headaches or can anyone tell me how they are feeling or what they have felt after their surgery.  I am taking advil several times a day but that doesn't seem to help at all.

I am so sorry u r having sever HA's still....what meds r u on?U could have a reaction to meds as well.

DO the HA's change with position?..r they worse when u sit or stand? r they better when u lie down? If so, u may have a CSF leak....try to drink plenty of fluids H2o and lie flat for a few days and see if it helps.

U also could have a reaction to a patch...do u know if u had one placed?...if so what type?

Last some develop a CSF buildup after surgery...there is no indication as to y this happens to some and not others, but could be the reason...r they HA's or pressure?

Have u told ur dr about these HA's?..if not u need to.

For a couple months after your surgery you will get severe headaches. I had mine March 9th 2010. And I have severe headaches for about two months, but it paid off because I'm much better now...You just had brain surgery. It won't feel better right away. But don't give up. Relief is on its way.
