Ah the common cold

Hey all just having a little rant been 'head pressure free for a few days now' feeling pretty good then I get the sniffles last night, thought great this ain't going to bad today hasnt floored me like it normally does then wam bam thank you man .... In the past hour I've developed a full blown cold and now my head feels like it's gonna explode with pressure, see!!?? Not even the strongest of medication can combat the common cold. Lol.  ( not chiari related just being a winge bag )

Sorry...I know how nasty a head cold is for those with out chiari....and I know how bad it is with it....

be sure to get those nasal passages cleared...a netti pot or saline nasal spray...even shower soothers help clear things up.

I've been sick with a cold/flu(thinking it's flu now though) bug for a week. It's been horrible! I've been mostly in bed, unable to manage much of anything. My Hubby has moved his "office" out of our bedroom and taken up residence in the living room so he could work while watching our 3 year-old play. It stinks! Every time I think I'm doing better and try to get up more and help put, I pay for it. So I've stopped trying now. I've decided until this head and chest congestion and fever are gone, I'm not doing much of anything except taking care of myself.

The things that have made it more bearable are; Mucinex(real, brand-name expensive Mucinex since the generic kind only lasted me 3 hours a pop), and real Sudafed(not the PE crap that isn't regulated). My chest was so congested, it was hard to breathe without coughing before mucinex. My sinus pressure coupled with ICP was making me way more miserable before i sent Hubby to the pharmacy to buy sudafed. I also suck on throat lozenges or butterscotches thanks to the kids' Halloween excursion when my throat is raw-feeling.

I hope yours is just a little cold bug and not the flu, or anything that lasts long. I wouldn't wish this misery on my worst enemy. Feel better quickly.

Oh yes Honey I can sympathise how you feel, I dread getting the common cold have had a few since my probs started, and they floor me, hazzard of our jobs I think, working with adults and kids that have severe learning difficulties, they cough and sneeze all over us, I hate the winter im constantly covered in somebody elses germs!!!!!

My head feels like its going to explode my ears just cant cope with the smallest amount of noise, my balance is all over the place and it takes weeks to shift!!!!

I am going to ask my gp if I can have flu jab this year as just cant cope at the moment with daily symptoms let alone getting cold on top.

I have also been sick for almost two weeks now! The pressure in my head is so bad it feels like it will burst. My ear hurts and my teeth ache and my everyday headache is so much worse. Is just one day of feeling well too much to ask? I hope you all feel better soon!

I hope you feel better. I too know that it is much worse with chiari. I hate it! I dread having a cold or any type of allergy symptom! Not only the head pain & pressure, but also the sneezing and coughing - makes my head hurt soo bad. So I feel ya! I hope it is a short cold for you. Oh and I agree with Selma, the netti pot is good idea. I have the pot and the squeeze bottle both. I really like them.

Still no better today. I think I may have a sinus infection.  Anyone know if it will go away on it's own or is a dreaded antibiotic needed? Thanks everyone!

If u have an infection...get the antibiotic....and if u r like me and get yeast infections ask for DIFLUCAN right away too!!!
