Best place to go in USA for syringomyelia... Ex: Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, etc.

Was in MVA 2+ years ago. Several cervical herniations c4-5, c5-6, c6-7. Erratic Symptoms slowly multiplied, wooziness, weakness in arms, hands, legs, tingling, numbness, neck and right shoulder pain and head pressure. Recently diagnosed w/syringomyelia from whiplash.... Looking for specialist!

Hi and welcome, so glad a you found this great group!!! I know you might be scared rite now with all that they have told you, but Selma is rite there are lots of doctors out there, just be sure you go to a really good one!!! Like Selma suggested there are those 2 great places in Long Island NY, I am having to go thru a second brain surgery because my first Doctor didn't. Understand all related conditions, with Chiari and Siringo...now I found my new Doctor there  In NY and he was the only one that understood my condition, I went thru 6 neurologist and Neurosurgents, and no one not even the first NS who did my first brain surgery was able to tell me why I was still having headaches, dizziness ,blurry vision and the pain in my neck..he told me. That everything was fine!!! But I was felling sicker and sicker...only 1 doctor at NSPC was my MRI and said to me " I know what is wrong with you and I know how to fix it"
So please do your research and don't be afraid to travel to get the best care!!

   Hi and   welcome  to the  Chiari forum,

  The best place is  any place  they  specialize in Chiari as  they treat  both....Syringomyelia is  a related  condition of  Chiari....

  There are several  in NY,.,...the Chiari Institute  and  “Chiari Neurosurgical Center at NSPC”,

  Take  a look  at  our  list of  Drs  and use it to research Drs.....that is more important then just looking  at the hospital's  name.
