Hi all, I just wondered if any one else has had experience with beta blockers?? My neurologist has put me on 10mg 3 times a day to increase to 40mg 3 times a day over a 8 week period.... I've been told that it helps to decrease pressure in the brain to, it reduces heart rate and blood pressure, I'm due to start them on Saturday ( got a couple days of work to get use to them) but I'm a bit nervous of taking them. Any tips / shared experience much appreciated. Xxx
nothing to be nervous about. just think of them as a bandaid! for some of us they work, others, not so much. for me personally, they did not. but you might be one of the lucky ones that have good results!! think positive!! good luck!
I was atenolol, a beta blocker, a few years ago to help with the dizziness I was experiencing (was dx;d with vasodepressor syncope--thinking now it's been chiari)...I did fine on it!! I did go off about 3 months before getting pg though--I think there were some problems with beta blockers and pregnancy. GL!
Nothing to be nervous about, I was nervous because I have a super sensitive tummy and they never made me sick. They did not do anything but lower my blood pressure (which was already low) and lower my heart rate. So it unfortunately didn't help. I hope for better luck for you!
