Blurred vision when not wearing glasses

Does anyone have blurred vision, but has glasses that undoes the blurriness. It's hard to tell if my blurred vision is because of needing glasses or because of Chiari. I remember forgetting to bring my glasses to school when I was in grade school and than not wearing glasses only when I shower or sleep. Anyone have similar experience. Oh yeah I always have to get stronger lens for my frames. I was told I had stigmatism but that could be a misdx.

I agree...I have the same wish...let's hope some doc is doing some kind of research about this...

I also can feel that eye twitching when my eyes are closed.

I also have many of the vision issues u do....the blurry vision to the point driving is out...and it changes...and I do notice weather plays a factor too.I am not bothered by nystagmus like b4 surgery, but from time to time when I close my eyes I feel like my eyes r jumping...such an odd sensation. I do have an  Astigmatism as well....

I wish there was a Dr that was studying all of this instead of just how  to do the surgery....we need post op care for all these other issues as well...

I've had double vision since 93, and have learned to live with it, it was just kind of limited to the sides of my line of vision. In 2003, my NS requested an ear and eye test because i told him of my vision and hearing problems. They found out I had some "spots" I could not see aside from my double vision - thus I don't drive. They also found out my hearing was affected especially when there is background noise.

My blurry vision starts when I first open my eyes in the morning, then clears out, comes back if I am reading, or when I am tired or have a headache...or when there is a change in the weather.

My vision has gotten worse right before my third surgery in 2010, and has not gotten better-nystagmus(which now affects even my right eye),worse double vision and occasional blurry visions.

I went to see an Opthalmologist a few weeks ago and he said my nystagmus and double vision and occasional blurring is caused by four conditions. My Chiari - for the nystagmus; double vision because of a corneal condition most people incur as they grow older (I just so happened to develop it way earlier than most - for some reason-he says), same with the need of reading glasses (I guess I am getting older) and Astigmatism. He tried applying prism lenses to help with the double vision but it hasn't helped much with the blurry visions. He has decided to refer me to a Neuro Opthalmologist and I just got my appointment yesterday. He says the Neuro Opthalmologist will find my case "very interesting." So I said I just hope they can figure out something to help me with my vision.
I will post the results again after my appointments.

I'm not sure I have double but I know for sure I have blurry. I haven't been tested for connective disorder. Weirdly enough I made the mistake of not telling my doctors about the blurry vision but they kept asking while I was wearing glasses. I never thought about it.

I don't know if this will help, but I have the blurred vision/double vision at reading/computer distance.  It gets worse when my headaches are bad, but the root cause, I've been told, is from the combination of Chiari and a connective tissue disorder (Stickler Syndrome).  Because my collagen is not made correctly, I cannot converge my eyes enough for 1 image, hence the double vision.  Why could I when I was younger?  Younger ligaments/muscles made up for the imperfect collagen, so I didn't notice the problem until I hit a certain age (late 40s).  Double vision was what "stuck out" to my eye doc...that's a different kind of "blurry".  Have you been checked for that?? Just a thought.

Problem I had with putting off the eyeglasses renewal was I was getting my eye related headaches again, so I ended up having to get glasses. Lucky me, my dad understands that when these headaches start it's just better to pay for glasses. A hundred percent of the time when my eyeglasses are off everything is blurry. Oh and my eye doctor noticed more veins in my eyes than normal anyone else experience that?

I've been wearing glasses since 3rd grade (near-sighted). I have days now where not even my glasses can take away the blurriness. It can be Chiari related. I'm putting off getting my eyes examined (for new glasses) until after surgery. I'm fairly certain that with CM there can be pressure on your eyes and eye-nerves. Glasses/contacts can help a lot, but with CM I think vision quality is generally inconsistent.

There r  No glasses that help when my eyes go blurry....I tried getting a stronger magnification, it does not help....and my eye dr said I was not in need of glasses at all!..SO I went and got some from the drug store to help me, but they r not always  the answer...and I wish I knew what that was, as I still have times that I can not see to work on my projects bcuz of my eyes...I do find it is weather related.....

It costs me 270 bucks to buy my current glasses because the medi-cal (California's medi-caid) stopped paying for glasses. They do pay for the exam. My frames were 75 dollars after a 50 dollar discount. There are disadvantages to having these glasses. When I had blue cross through dad my portion of the bill ended up 55 dollars- 25 deductible and 30 for the special lenses. When medi-cal still paid for eye glasses all I paid was 30 for the special lenses. I now pay 195 for the lens.
