Brain sinking 7 months post op

Hi everyone, I've been back to the neurologist and I am meeting with a new surgeon because my symptoms have worsened. A new MRI was done and the neurologist said my brain is lower than it should be. I had surgery 7 months ago, they did a C1 laminectomy and tonsil resection but did not insert a shunt. Has anyone experienced their brain sinking back after surgery?

Hi...brain  slump  or  cerebral  ptosis is  the  result  of  your  Dr  taking  away  too much  bone....to  correct  this  another  surgery  is done  and  they  place  a  mesh sling  to  keep everything  in place.

Not  sure  why  you  felt like  a shunt should  have  been  placed...were  you  told  you  would  get one ?  Do  you  have  IIH?

If  you  have  excess  CSF  now,  it  could  be  bcuz  of  the slump  and  I  would  not rush  to get  a shunt.....

Also, be  sure  you  do  not have  EDS  as  that  can  have  affects  on you symptom  wise too.....

I  did  not  have  this  but we have had  a few  members that  have....may  I ask  was  your  NS  a Chiari specialist?
