I knew I had Chairi, but this is the symptom for me which directed me here and to surgery.  I had such bad pressure in the head I would cry just to get some relief.  As my NS described it to me is just like a tire that you blow up with air.  You can only put so much pressure inside and if it has no where to go the pressure builts up.  I'm happy to hear you seeing a Dr.  you will find more answers.  Just wanted to let you know your not alone and I'm so sorry to hear your having this issue.  It does get better.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

As sexybare mentioned it can feel very similar to sinus pressure, but we can also have sinus issues bcuz of where everything is located and compression in the area can affect many things including the pituitary gland....

But sinus pressure is the best way to describe how this feels, but, do make sure u do not have a sinus issue as well, which is possible.

Yes its like a sinus pressure headache. I thought I had sinus issues for 4years, but sinuses are perfect. Does it increase with movement, laughing any straining?. Do you know if you have blockage? Sure sounds like it.

Ive had that alot and feel like my eyes are always pulsing and my head feels full and groggy, and I have trouble concentrating because of it, and comprehending what people are saying to me most of the time.Any ideas would be apreciated. Thanks Rachel

Hello and welcome to the forum,

A blockage in the CSF flow can result in a huge number of symptoms that you will see listed on the site here. It can cause severe headaces and affect your vision, hearing, nerves and muscles, gait, ...really the list goes on and on!! It causes the pressure to go up in your brain and around your spinal cord which can also result in a syrinx.

There isn't much to go on from your question but if there is any symptoms that you would like to now specifically, please ask!

Carolyn
