I have problems with my temp…lately I cant get warm, I try to have a shower and I have to keep adjusting the heat, on my back it gets to hot but the rest of me feel the water is cold. If I am sitting around I get cold and turn on the heating, everyone else start to complain its to hot. If I am doing some thing like walking I overheat and I get very uncomfortable. My GP feels it may be due to the Syrinx. I also have loss of sensation in my hands and across my shoulders. I cant tell hot from cold with my hands.

HI Mara....hmmmmmm may I ask what ur drs think of that?
I was thinking mayb it was a type of dyastonomia......not sure what is going on....I did read something about body temp regulation, but can't remember quite what it was...if I locate it, I will PM it to u.

Not really my blood pressure is always pretty normal -unless I'm really really stressed... but the pressure inside my head gets really bad... then I get dizzy and nauseus and clammy and all other manner of things. It gets so bad sometimes when I get too warm I have to stick my head in the freezer or go outside in the middle of winter with no coat on.. (today for example they had the heat on on the bus.. I got off early and walked the rest of the way to work.)
....that was a funny blast from the past...calgon...lol.....
Mara- do u have BP issues that a warm shower affects u?
Calgon take us away? Unless calgon makes you sneeze!
I feel especially crappy on mondays. It's terrible!
I have sinus issues so I can relate to the sneezing and the resulting pressure! Today is the worst I've been in a while and don't know why...
Taking a hot shower helps clear out the sinuses, but then the heat gets to you, so it's like, doing something to fix one thing then having to do another to fix another problem.. *sigh* I need a magic wand to make it all go away!
It'll at least feel good.....lol...Elizabeth has had issuses with her eyes as well.....not fun
I'll try that! Last night my kids looked at my face and said "oh gross mom, your eyes are bleeding" ...WHAT? Is what just blood vessels! LOL
Hi...I do that alot too.....feels like u have an eyelash in there to boot.....try a cool cloth ...lie downand lay it over ur eyes ( closed of course) .....it does help a bit.

I'll continue to vent on my thread........I've now blown the blood vessels in my eyes! Seriously could I do anything else??? LOL!
I can so identify with you and what you are experiencing! Just when you think you have a handle on dealing with current symptoms something new/different comes up. Some of the perfumes/men's cologne my co-workers wear causes me to have sneezing fits and the resulting pressure/pain is excruitating. My co-workers too have the "can't see it so it doesn't exsist" attitude. My previous supervisor gave me a 4 out 9 (1 being cannot do the job & 9 being performs above & beyond what is expected) point annual review because my symptoms (numbness, dizziness/feeling of falling, tunnel vision) have caused me to slow down for my safety & the safety of others near me.
Do what you can to hold out til November if you can't get in any earlier and I'll keep you in my thoughts & prayers.
...just a FYI- if u experience vertigo and do not have an rx to help u can take dramamine to help with the effect of the motion.
PS- be sure to get non drowsey or u'll be knocked out.
They called something in tonight, of course I can't remember what it is. I didn't get a chance to pick it up. Will pick it up tomorrow. Since the best way to explain things to them was, "I feel like I"m a rocking boat and I'm trying to hang on" they prescribed a med often giving to sailors she said. She said it should help with nausea. i sure hope so.
Since no one has really gone over anything with me she freaked me out when she explained a few things. She said I need to let surgeon know this when I see him in November. She said she thinks this is because the base of my brain is being compressed. I really wish someone would have discussed my cine mri more with me and what they found!
Hi Jorlex,
Ask your doctor for Phenegren is help with the nausea from the headaches my pain dr gave me some only to be taken as need so everytime i have a bad headache that I feel sick from I can take one of those it does work with the nausea handle i can get a better handle on the headache.
yeah i understand, that is why I had gotten off it for a while. I'm a bit better, have not gotten to relax! My poor daughter, 13, suffers from random migraines. Once every 3months and got a really bad one tonight. It was the worse she has ever had. So she went in for IV pain management. She is great and I"m exhausted...so it goes! LOL
Think I'll call it a early night!
I wondered bcuz some of the side effects r sooooooo similar to chiari symptoms
yeah i've been on topamax for two year, was taken off for 6month once too see what symptoms i had while off it and then placed back on it
...may I ask, how long r u on the topamax?
Topamax most common side effects
If side effects do bother people, most commonly, Topamax will slow you down, or make you feel like you're in a fog. This includes slower reflexes, trouble thinking or concentrating, trouble thinking of the right word (and other speech problems), tiredness, poor coordination, and dizziness.
Topiramate may also cause tingling in your hands or feet, shakiness, depression, nausea, memory problems, and visual problems (such as double vision). It has also been known to bring on respiratory infections.
Hi...sorry u still r not feeling ne better....and unfortunately nasuea is a chiari thing......we all tend to get it at some point.
Rest and relax....that is a good idea and should help some.

Thanks! I just came home from work early as I could handle it again today! Came home 4 hours early! I never had a problem with nausea but things just seem to worsen. I'm sure my spirits are just down and I'll get over this.
I think I'll curl up to my book and doze in and out this afternoon! I'm not taking anything but Topamax for my seizures.
Hi ...I have to agree with ROD.....may I ask r u taking ne thing for pain? The reason I ask is chiari has a lot to do with swelling and if u were to take something to help reduce sweeling u might feel a bit better.
Also , call ur PCP and ask him what he reccommends u to do.....I am sure since he knows u and ur history he can suggest something.
I will look up natural or food items that may help or hinder this issue.
