Hi. Just to throw my 2 cents in, I had visual symptoms pre op that worsened post op. More recently so and because of that and the pulsing headaches was put on diamox for high pressure. The blind spots didn't improve terribly sobwas sent for a visual field test which was awful apparently. Then I had another each week for 3 weeks and every one of them showed blind spots and the only diagnosis made was "visual field defects", yet my eyes themselves are healthy. My neurologist told me I prob had papilladema prior to diamox but it didn't present due to the meds. Just something to think about. Good luck to you

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
It is sad to have to say there are many Drs that are neurologists and even neurosurgeons that do not know or understand the effects of Chiari on any one individual....since Chiari can compress the brain stem and nerves in the spinal cord it can in fact affect any function in the human body....that is my understanding of how it works.....if a nerve is affected ,we will be affected.
I have had my depth perception altered due to Chiari and I no longer drive.
What you need is a true Chiari specialist....one that will test and rule out ALL related conditions.....
Keep in mind they too may not accept all your issues as symptoms of Chiari...BUT they will look at everything and help you get some relief.
Also know you may need to travel to get to the right Dr for you.
And lastly know you are not alone.
