No...u really can not tell if there is a obstruction as the MRI is still pics, and if ur tonsils pulsate with ur BP it will allow CSF to flow with diff beats...and since the pics r stills there is no way to get it to shot the pic when the CSF is stopped as it is so quick...a CINE MRI is a moving real time video of CSF FLOW to see if the tonsils pulsate with ur BP and y u wear a clip to monitor BP during this MRI.
Not sure what the lesion is unless it is a syrinx in it's early stages????
It says between c1-c5. There is no syrinix there but he only did cervical. Can you tell if there is CSF blockage on a reg MRI? I haven't had a cine yet.
This is what my NS told me that I had in my neck where I had my blockage of CSF leak and he say's it causes severe pain. I don't know if this is different than a cryst or not, but it sure feels better after having them removed. Wish you the best.
Linda :)
It could very well be a syrinx, and yes it can be due to chiari and the obstruction of CSF flow....
Do u have a copy of the report?...What area of ur spine is this located?
It is also possible this is something different, but if u do have chiari is a possibility.
