Chiari 1 or Parkinson

A little over a year ago I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. The medication has helped with all my symptoms.  About 2 months I started experiencing severe pains in my neck with numbness and pains in my arms and leg . My orthopedic doctor ordered a MRI. The conclusion: Low grade Chiari 1 malformation. Without cervical cord syrinx.  Cerebellar tonsils protruding 7mm inferiorly through foramen magnum.
What are the chances that I could have both Parkinson’s and Chiari 1 ? What are the chances that I could have been misdiagnosed with Parkinson’s.

It is possible that u were mis dx'd, and it is very possible that u could have both....u really need to be seen by a true chiari dr to know for sure.

  I do not understand y drs or radiologists feel the need to classify chiari as low grade...exactly what does low grade mean?....

Did u have a CINE MRI?...do u know if u have a CSF obstruction, or overcrowding?...tethered cord, Ehlers -Danlos, sleep apnea, ICH, and did  they check ur thoracic and lumbar spine for a syrinx?...Most Drs only look at the cervical spine, but a syrinx can form in ne area of the spine.Plus many of us do have issues with our disks, so it is best to look at the whole thing and know what all is going on.

Do u have a true chiari specialist?
