Chiari Dr in Las Vegas, NV?

Hello everyone! I started experiencing EXTREME symptoms associated with my 9mm Chiari Malformation about 5 months ago. I am in a great deal of pain and it is getting worse every day. I feel like I am deteriorating and I am only 36 years old! I have difficulty walking, severe burning pain in my hands and feel, 'shocking' pain shooting up my arms, lack of fine motor skills/coordination, blurred vision, headaches originating at the back/bottom of my skull, 'full' feeling in my head with plugged ears, pulse or heartbeat sound in my head, inability to concentrate or make sense of the simplest things occasionally, inability to express my thoughts into words occasionally, and the list goes on... I have seen so many doctors and had every test know to man done. I have not yet found a doctor who knows much about Chiari, let alone one who is willing to operate.I have tried EVERYTHING, from physical therapy to pain killers (which are completely ineffective). Does anyone know of a Doctor in Las Vegas or So Cal who has experience with Chiari and who has done decompressions? PLEASE HELP!!! I honestly don't know how I can go on like this! THANK YOU!!!

Hi....thanks for adding a Dr.....but since this is an older thread could you add your info to the Drs list thread so the Dr can be added to the main Drs list?

Thanks....BTW- how are you doing since your surgery?

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

First, b4 u decide to let someone do surgery on u find out how ur chiari is affecting u other than the obvious.....ur symptoms r typical  of someone with chiari, but 5 months is not a long time to deal with it to be considering this surgery.....there r risks in having it...and not having it...so u need to find out a bit more...

Do u have a CSF obstruction, a syrinx, tethered cord, sleep apnea,ICP,Ehlers-danlos,and other issues with ur spine including bulging disks.....

Most times once a person gets their chiari dx, they can usually look back and see they really have had it much ,longer than they originally thought....the symptoms do cycle and many times can be considered the cause of other issues and the dots r never connected.

We do have a list of drs that the members compiled of their own drs names...use this list to research to locate the right dr for u- the list is not meant as a referral.-http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Neurological%20Disorders/DOCTORS-LIST-FOR-CHIARI-SYRINGOMYELIA/show/1062?cid=186
