Chiari Malformation

Any Canadians who have Chiari Malformation? Do you know of any good specialists in British Columbia?

HI...Chiari drs in Canada is not an easy find...but, I did find a list and started a thread...please research all drs the list is not intended as a referral, but as a starting point for u to do some investigating. If u see ne of the drs on the list, please let us know if  he/she was knowledgeable on chiari and if u like them.

Hello and Welcome!!

I am from Victoria BC...

I was dx with Chiari in Sept 09 and had surgery in Dec 09. I have a wonderful NS who has excellent beside manner and is very skilled at what he does. I had no complications from the surgery at all.

I don't think he is necessarily a "Chiari specialist" but he dx me when no one else cared to even keep looking. So to me he's my hero.

I will message you and give you the information (it is on the specialist thread too but I don't know if I put the phone number down). It looks like you live in Surrey so it wouldn't be too difficult to make the ferry trip over. My NS also knows another surgeon who has done Chiari surgeries as well.

I'm glad to have met someone so close..despite the reason we are meeting :)
