Chiari NS in spain?

Hello, this is my first time on this forum. I had an MRI in June which reported slight tonsillar decent and 'possible syrinx'. I did not know what this meant and my orthopaedic consultant said he didn't either - but referred me to a NS. I have not had the appointment yet and have been researching about the two problems (yes it leaves me a little worried). I have been having symptoms for many years, but so many symptoms affecting all of my body that I just didn't have time during doctors visits to explain them all. I have got much worse during the last 6 months and have since moved to another country, but still not seen a NS. My questions are: 1) does anyone know of a good chiari NS in spain, & 2) Do I have 'chiari & srynx'. I am not expecting answers to my questions, but would really appreciate some help & advice.

Hi Ray, and thankyou. I only moved to spain in June, but so glad I did. I have felt so much better since becoming a member - the support and information is incredible. Just need someone to look at my MRI and tell me what it is. After reading more about chiari and syrinx, I now realise that all my symptoms are related to this. More gardening tomorrow as the weather is glorious. Sorry - forgot you live in uk. lol x

I will. Just waiting for my medical records from UK before my new Doc can decide where to send me - at least I can let her know about the clinics in Barca. Thanks.

There is a chiari institute in Barcelona , Spain.....I will look for the info and post it here.U deff need additional testing to see exactly what ur issues r....if u have a CSF blockage, overcrowding and every dr u go to may give u a diff answer.

Luckily for u there r experts there, but I have no idea how close to Barcelona u r.

Many people with Chiari also have Syringomyelia or a Syrinx, You will find Information on both of these conditions here on our health pages. You will find a link to the health pages at the top right of this page here....
Our community leader here is selmaS and she will be able to advise on a NS in Spain, I remember she mentioned some thing in the past about a Chiari center in Spain but I don't remember the info but selma will post it for you...
This is a good place for support and getting practical suggestions for living with CM from day to day :)
