Chiari surgery and dying hair

Is it ok to bleach or dye hair a couple weeks before surgery? I just want to look nice for my family and myself before I'm hung up in bed for awhile.

  Glad u got it done......

@ Michelle each Dr is different and since I had longer hair I was able to hide my incoming roots and my scar....

Each Dr is different as to what they prefer....so always best to ask them.

Thanks Selma for replying! I did get some highlights and a tiny kiss the tips trim. I Haven't been scheduled for surgery yet but my Dr told me all should be going through this week with my insurance clearance. By the end of January is what they have said. I'm super nerveous!

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum,

I would ask  ur NS a few weeks should be ok, but always go by what ur Dr prefers when it comes to this and even cutting hair ,.....mine preferred I kept mine long and in a pony tail,,...and so did I....lol...

Talk to ur Dr....I do not see it as an issue unless it is not well rinsed off....but with a few weeks b4...it should be ok....
