Chiari vs Concussion

Hey all,

TCI in New York thinks that I have EDS as well as a Chiari that has become symptomatic.  I'm 29 years old and previously very healthy.

These symptoms, which include brain fog, right side weakness, muscle spasms, horrible memory problems, and headaches basically all started following a mild head injury.  I did have fatigue issues before this.  Has anyone else has symptoms come on after a concussion?  I'm just worried about misdiagnosis here.

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum

For many of us since this is a congenital condition are not aware we have it as we tend to become accustomed to the symptoms that come and go...which can also make it difficult to get a DX for the varied symptoms.....BUT an injury such as you had can trigger the symptoms to flare....once the flare subsides you may not have any more issues , BUT it is possible for them to continue or worsen.....

So are there others that have had this happen...yes indeed there are.
