If you stop breathing go to the ER...do not wait !!
This is nothing to take your time and wait on.....get a Dr to listen .....brain stem compression can lead to breathing issues...so go and do not let them fluff you off....
Thank you guys so much! I've been at a loss of what to do. It feels like my body is shutting down, and depending how my neck feels I have tons of symptoms where I can stop breathing, go unconscious, or go completely paralyzed. Its been scary. Thank you all so much!
On the bottom right image it seems that you have a retroflexed odontoid. Check if it matches your symptoms.
Send your info to a Chiari specialist....ask for them to review it and suggest the best course of action...your NL may be able to offer other testing....
Good luck and keep us posted.
My Neurologist said that the CSF flow was fine so there was no need for surgery. I also sent my records to a chiari specialist who said the same thing. I'll see if I can talk to a neurologist about this. It would be nice. If they can help, I've been having so many problems.
I am not sure if you are properly decompressed. When you look at the image, under the cerebellum vermis, the color should be black (csf), there you have gray-white. Other pictures don't show the area.
This does appear to be Basilar Invagnation...where the top 2 vertabrates migrate upward into the brain stem....and it does appear that is an issue as far as I can tell....just google Basilar Invagnation and look at the pics...they show a "normal" brain stem and one with Chiari and BI......
Any pressure on the brain stem can cause symptoms,....and this would do it and with change in position of your head will cause them to increase....
