Dent on incision after pseudo?

After having a large pseudo after surgery with obvious swelling, there is now a dent where the swelling used to be.  Anyone else have this?

Thanks for all the helpful comments!  What a relief to find out the dent is actually normal.  The NS says its the bone healing from the craniotomy.  It's not painful in fact feels better than when the swelling was there.  This is a great forum!

Hello :)  I am having an MRI this week to see if pseudo 2 is gone and the reason he thinks it is gone is because of the "dent" in the back of my head.  My family thinks it is gross but I will take the dent compared to the pseudo any day!  It used to change so they could tell that it was still open in there, the best time to see how  the dent feels my NS told me is when I am in bed or just got up because that is when the pressure should be increased so if it is leaking it will change.  Luckily my Dent does not hurt, I think it feels better as a dent than a lump by far!  I believe my NS explained that the muscles can get pushed apart by the fluid, since the pseudo seems gone or smaller I have lots less neck and shoulder pain so even though I have the dent I am much happier.  Do you feel better now with the dent instead of the swelling?  Did it just go away on its own?  If so that is great, mine would not go away and after three head surgeries they then gave me an LP shunt and then a shunt revision and now I just want it out :) IF my pseudo is gone than they will take my shunt out and I can't wait.  I am assuming I just have a funny dent on my head! -Zygy

This could be where muscles have sunken in.  My Dr uses a titanium mesh to attach muscles but not all do.

I'm almost 2 yrs post op and I still have a dent in the back of my head.  I thought this was normal after having surgery.  Mine feels like a babies soft spot they have on the top of their heads except mine is in the back.  I'm very protective of it I know.  I thank God I have hair to cover it.  I feel like I have a crater head LOL...

I have also battled 2 pseudos. The first one left a dent in my head. After the 2nd surgery it felt normal until the pseudo came back. My head still dont feel like a normal head. I do still have the 2nd pseduo. However my dent is no longer there. After alot of the swelling went down it went somewhat back to normal.

Hi...well it is good the pseudo is gone, but I have no idea about a dent...talk with zygy2 as she  has had the most personal experience with pseudo's.

Is the dent deep? or it is just diff bcuz it is no longer swollen there?
