There r two camps on this issue there r some chairi specialists that say u can have a minimal herniation and still have chiari and it has been termed chiari 0.
Many others believe that the herniation must be 5mm or larger to be considered chiari.
We have many with chiari 0 that have typical chiari symptoms....getting treatment for larger herniations is really not easy so I can symptahize with those with the very minimal herniations.
It is possible to have migraines in addition to chiari HA's so u deff need to try pain management and keep getting checked...and avoid triggering the chiari to grow.
Hi and welcome to the forums. There is alot of support here for you and alot of us ae in your shoes. Minimal herniation that not many docs recognize as a Chiari and there for does not see the need to treat.
I alos was told my Dr. H that I do not have one as my herniation is only 4mm. I had a NS at the CC tell me I do have it it is just does not need surgery. make sure you get the help you need to relieve the pain and dont give up.
the support from the friends here will help you through this.
if you ever need to rant or vent please feel free to PM me.

The othe rquestions I have is...have u had MRI's of the cervical spine, thoracic and lumbar?...this is to rule out a syrinx and or tethered cord...also did u have a CINE MRI to have ur CSF flow checked for a blockage?
The blockage of flow is more of an issues as well as compression on the spine...overcrowding.....and symptoms and quality of life.
Depending where u live u may want to try and get to a NL that understands Chiari to do further testing.
Welcome to the family here : )
