I am not ancient either, but some on here might think so, haha.  I am 52
1 and only seem to have symptoms when the weather changes.  I have a large 14mm herniation that they say isn't affecting me and I have had a completely health life.  I don't think the brain would start to shrink any time soon.  I would assume the age of 65 or 70 would be more like it. Thanks for your comments!

Once I started to get migraines at 15, they slowly but surely increased to being at two weeks constantly at which they are presently. The other symptoms I had I brushed off. But then again I'm only 26, the constant migraines for 11 years was my only major complaint when no matter  what I did they wouldn't get better. So with my experience these symptoms only get worse as we get older from the point we trigger the Chiari to flare up. Mine was at 15 learning to free dive. I guess holding my breath for 10 minutes under water put pressure on my brain or Chiari just wanted to come on out and let herself be known to me.

Hope is a very good tool in recovery. And frankly I would love to see this
'Theory' be proven true. After all there are a couple of us on here who uuuummmm well are not ancient yet but are pretty close to that Old mark.

We have to keep in mind though, hope is a wonderful thing while at the same time mis-placed Hope can lead to disaster. Therefore I for one would like to see some facts to back up this theory.

I've never heard of anyone else being told this besides me. Actually I thought I heard him wrong when he said it but my husband and mom were in the room too. I heard it correctly! The few times I've brought it up in support groups people treat me like I'm crazy and that I need to get a 2nd opinion with a Chiari specialist. Funny thing is it was Dr Oro who said it to me!!!!

He said that the brain atrophies shrink as we age and the cerebellum sits higher as a result.  It did sound too good to be true, but he is an NS and I guess he should know.  I guess I can only hope that that is the case, doesn't hurt!

Never heard that b4 and I would highly doubt it...not sure what they feel is the cause for age related calming of these symptoms, but as I got older my symptoms worsened....JMHO
