I am curious to know if any of yall have used or know someone that has used neurosurgeon in Birmingham, Alabama area? I realize the list of Chiari specialists states only one in Alabama, which is in Mobile. But I have read where others have had surgery in Birmingham and I have searched but unable to find who exactly he/she/they were. Thank you in advance. (also let me add this is for an adult not a child, if this even makes a difference.)
Hi...sorry I wish I had that info for Birmingham....did u try to use the search this community feature? Here is a link of to threads I found using the search feature-http://www.medhelp.org/forums/search/257?utf8=%26%23x2713%3B&query=birmingham%2C+AL
And u r right, it is important to mention u need a NS for an adult...some only work with children while others only work with adults....
My son has Chiari and had decompression surgery when he was 4. He is 12 now and is still being followed up on. Dr. Jerry Oakes dis his surgery, but Dr. Kirschberg (neurologist) is following him now. You can probably call his office and get suggestions on where to go. He is in Brookwood Hospital.
