Dr Rosner

I would like very much to hear from anyone who has had experiences with Dr. Rosner in Hendersonville, NC.  I understand that he is excellent....I sent him an e mail the other day with a brief description of what I'm going through, and he e mailed me back almost right away with what he thinks is happening.  He didn't mention anything about a possible csf build up or leak...That's what they're telling me here. I really don't want to do a spinal tap, if he could be right.  He made me feel like I wasn't nuts...no one here seems to think anything is wrong and yet I feel TERRIBLE...Just had a severe headache today and it's still a dull ache (all day long). We are about 4 hours away...I would really like to get some input about him before we decide to make the trip!  Thanks!

Hello!  I see Dr Rosner and will be having surgery with him probably the first of March, end of February.  He is an amazing doc and very thorough, very careful, very caring.  He will find things the other docs have missed.  I dont think there is anyone who knows more than him about CM.  He promptly answers emails and his office staff is wonderful. His new patient exams last hours so be prepared to spend lots of time.  I was there for over 3 hours.  He does his own exams and doesnt send in a PA to do them for him.  There is a nice hotel 1/2 mile from the hospital called Mountain Suites.  They give his patients a discount so maybe plan on staying the night is really pretty there.  I think we paid $79 for a suite!

I asked my FD for a referral to Dr. Rosner today and will be calling to schedule an appointment shortly.  When I calm down and can say nice things in a reasonable tone, I will share the load of nonsense that I was fed today at my appointment.

Fortunately, either my doc is sick of me and will refer me to whom ever I ask for (not the first straight up referral I've asked for) or I'm forceful/obnoxious enough to get my way with a request.

Point is: for those of you fighting for attention from docs, get annoying.  They'll pass you on to someone else.  Just research who you want to be passed on to.  Take control.  Heh.  I feel like I'm trying to start a revolution.

I've had issues with visual disturbances.  At the moment all I can see is red.  Murder.  Beh!  I wish I had a supernatural power where I could "share" what I experience on a daily basis with my health care providers...wouldn't that be nice?

This is why I'm not in charge....

I would like to contact Dr Rosner but I'm unable to find an email address!  Could someone please point me in the right direction?  It could be right under my nose, but today's one of those days where if it was under my nose I wouldn't see it, then trip over it but wouldn't remember that I was looking for it...lol!!!  I'm sure you all can relate!  Thanks bunches!!

I think usually, and I am guessing, normally they take sutures out in a week which if you are close by for a few extra days that would be right at a week.  If not I am sure your primary care can take out sutures and nothing more.  That would be my plan anyway.  I am not sure about the follow up schedule but I am sure there would be more visits.  Several at least.  I dont have all the answers yet.  Looks like preop will be the end of February or first of March then I should know the rest.

I can't even imagine having a headache that lasted for 4 days...OMG!!!!  As I told Selma before...I feel like a "weenie" with my stuff!!!  I understand staying nearby following surgery, but what about post op visits...like suture removal, etc.?  Long drive again for that!!!

I know it is a drive but he is worth it.  He said he does surgery on Tuesday and most of the time you are discharged on Fri or Sat.  Depending on the distance you are from home he may want you to stay close by for a few more days.  We plan on staying till at least Monday before traveling back just to be safe.  An LP does have risk so having another opinion cant hurt. Would stink to go thru that if you didnt need it.  Let me know if you I can help you anymore.

I have had a headache last once for 4 days straight without letting up I was about to loose my mind. When the dog barked it was like electrical currents going thru my head.  I do feel for you!

Hi Pam!  How far away are you from Dr. Rosner?  When you have your surgery, did he say how long you would be in the hospital?  And how long before your post op visit (I'm gusessing that would be another trip).  Thanks so much for your input!  I really feel strongly that I'm going to just go ahead and cancel my lumbar puncture at Duke...I'm certainly not a Dr., but I just don't feel that's the problem!  I just have had a day and a half headache...never had this before...usually they last a couple of hours.
