I found his name on a hydrocephalus site. I also had seen his name on a fibromyalgia site. So, I called and left a message. He personally called me himself. That is very unusual for a doctor to call personally.
*Do u have an appointment already or looking to set something up for ur DD??*
Yes. We do have an appointment, and I will let you know how it goes.
*And is this for a syrinx? Just wondering what specialty u r seeking.....I know u have used Dr R in the past.*
Yes, we have used Dr. Rosner in the past, and are still huge fans of his. We just need to find someone closer to help us. North Carolina is quite a jump. And, Dr. Rosner is not able to operate on pediatric patients since the hospital he practices at no longer will do pediatric surgeries.
*I hope u can find more info on this dr or find one u r more able to get the info for.*
Thank you. I appreciate your help on this forum.
Since u r trying to find someone closer I am assuming it is to work in conjunction with Dr R's dx. I know traveling to see drs can get expensive.
Angle flights helps as do many other orgs like wishes and rainbows.
We were pleased to find Variety House in NY....$25 a night for chiari patients and their families....it is just down the street from NSUH and the security from the hosp pick u up and take u back to the house no extra fee!!.....
I look forward to an update on this dr...he may be able to help others in ur area as well if all goes well. : )
We had a very good visit with Dr. Wiebe. I would consider him a Chiari expert. He is very kind and compassionate, and doesn't have to have a film to show him that there is a problem. He understands about Chiari Zero, tethered cord, and syringomyelia. His office is in Hattiesburg, MS.
As of now, I could not, with a clear conscience, recommend Dr. Wiebe. While he was kind to my daughter, I feel he did not manage her condition well. Although he seems to be very knowledgeable, I just don't know that he's had the extensive experience that some of the other Chiari experts have had.
I truly don't mean to bash Dr. Wiebe at all, I just wanted to clarify my position on whether or not I would recommend him as a "Chiari expert".
Rebecca, I am doing ok...tired, but ok...my DD got married Oct 1st so I am trying to keep busy since all the prep is over...such a let down...like the holidays...u plan for sooooo long and then in a flash of an eye it is over leaving u tired and bewildered most times : )
But I am looking forward to working on a few more weddings with a friend...this Friday and next!!....
How is Rachel doing?...U taking her back to Dr Rosner?
