Elavil

Hi everyone.  I saw my neurosurgeon today for follow up and he wants to start me on Elavil 10 mg at bedtime and then increase to 25 mg if needed. He said he thinks it could help my pressure headaches.  Has anyone taken this medication and how was your experience on it. Thanks for the continued support.

I've taken Elavil for many many years. It helped a great deal for me...with headaches & sleeping.

Beware...one of the main side-effects is taste changes. One day this will taste horrible and another day it tastes fine. You never know. One major change is it makes all carbonated drinks taste flat. I've not had a soda in probably 5 yrs or so.

Thanks AKC.  I read some of the reviews on this medication. The information on side affects can be scary, but I'm gong to be on a low dose and hope I will have good results and none of the serious side affects.
