walking made me dizzy and gave me a headache for the first few weeks post-op. (im only nearly 2 months post-op now)
you could always do easy yoga poses that don't stress your neck or anything. yoga also involves deep breathing which is good for you, especially after such a serious surgery.
also, stretching is important and when done right it can make you feel so much better, especially if you do it before you start your day.
and when you recover more, months from now, pilates is good exercise! i would be wary of zumba, but who knows! maybe you'll be feeling like a million bucks months from now!
I agree with Selma. You don't want to rush thing's to fast. Walking is the best for now, and the rest will help you heal. If you rush into doing thing's you shouldn't you could hurt want they have fixed. I had to have surgery again because I think I did to much to soon and it was a big sit back. Listen your your body and listen, but please don't over do it. I know we all wanted to, but do what is best in the long run.
Hi, to start off...walk...rest...walk...rest...and do exercises for ur neck so the muscles do not get tight and so u do not get scar tissue.
It will be a while, and just walking right now is best, and rest.
Once u r up to more see our Wednesday's thread and start at the top and slowly work ur way down....the exercises start with sitting.....
Do not rush things and it is so easy to want to do at this point....
