Fingertips

Yesterday, while typing I had a few moments when my fingertips were tingling and then went numb… it was just for a few moments and then they were fine again.  Is this a symptom of chiari or something else?!

I have numbness in my hands and feet especially the little finger and that side of the hands, I also have pain in the joints of my fingers....the NS feels it is due to the Syrinx....

Hi yes i have had this before but now its the whole hand that goes numb and the tingling goes up my arm. From what i know and understand its nerves but probably caused from the chiari and csf blockage causing the nerves to be pinched. I'm sure others will have more info too but i hope this helps. --Shannon

Hi...there r several things that can cause this.....Like Shannon said if u have a CSF blockage u may have this....or as Ray said if u have pressure or blockage fom a syrinx it can do this as well....and lastly if u have stinosis which is yet another blockage and cause for impingement that can cause this tingling to occur.

i've written down these key words you guys mentioned for my neuro-surgeon..  he's probably not going to like me though!  i already have a million questions.  but hey, it's brain surgery, so he'll just have to deal!!

yes, I have this problem as well,as my hands and feet, seem to always be cold.....hope to help.russell
