Future

I have not officially been diagnosed yet, but have a host of symptoms and head MRI showing a drop. I am schedule for C spine MRI and ENT next week. And trying to get scheduled with a specialist in Cincinnati. Do people still work with CM?  My doctor has me off until I see the NS/CM Specialist. I am a firefighter and am afraid that I may not be able to return to work (and support my family). Any thoughts from anybody?

Many of us with Chiari also have Ehlers-Danlos*...and it can cause slow healing...and can cause other issues as well.

Keep us posted on what u find out....and look into EDS* while u wait.

Yes, the major issue are the headaches.  I have some hearing/ringing issues and some numbness/tingling in my face.  I have had two surgeries on my right arm (not related to CM), which are not healing as predicted by the surgeon.  I had a CT and MRI.  The MRI showed tonsils at 3.9mm.  I am going for a cervical MRI this coming Tuesday.  I have submitted a prescreening with my local CM specialist (Dr. Tew at the Mayfield Clinic in Cincinnati), waiting for them to contact me back.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

Do people still work with Chiari....yes, but many times it depends on the type of job and duties required for the job....everyone is different in how they respond to surgery if it is required...or how they can handle daily tasks .

May I ask what symptoms u have had so far that u had the testing done?
