I will do thank you so much :) I'm heading there right now I've skipped all my medicines to feel exactly what is hurting and showing him where. I really hope I get answers today. Thank you everyone for the support :)
Glad to hear you had the brain MRI as well....
Yup, our entire nervous system can be affected since Chiari is affecting our spinal cord and brain stem...all of our nerves pass thru there...
I pray this Dr is the one to be able to help...Good Luck and keep us posted on how this visit goes.
Yeah I had one on my brain in September, I've felt like my nervous system is completely going haywire my legs aren't working like they should constantly tingling and among other things I hope this new doctor knows more about chiari I've heard good things about this one.
Hi, My herniation was 6mm's on one side and only 4 on the other....the size of the herniation has nothing to do with if it is minimal or not, it is how it is affecting you and your overall health....there are too many Drs that do not know enuff about Chiari and ALL the related conditions.....it is possible the herniation is not causing an obstruction, but there could be something else like syringomyelia, or tethered cord, ICP, POTS, CCI....that are causing your symptoms....to only look at the size of the herniation is not giving you a full check up....you mentioned 2 MRI's cervical and thoracic, you should have had a brain MRI and a lumbar spine MRI along with a CINE MRI.
Hey! I live in Savannah Ga and I've heard good things about him. They did a MRI on my throatic and spine cause something is making my legs act up and my feet are spastic or something plus all the pain I've been having. The neurologist sent me to him cause they didn't know what else to do I suppose. They just kept saying it's only 6mm and it's a mild case so I shouldn't be having these problems im just so tired of taking medicine as much as I do. His name is Doctor Daniel Suh. I hope your surgery goes well! It's a scary thought I know that most definitely. Hope it goes well :)
Don't give up. Make sure that MRIs are continuously done and to search for chiari. The doctors may not be familiar. Mine didn't catch it for almost 11 years or so. I will be having surgery June 4. Mine is herniated 4 mm but now I have CSF blockage. Wher e do you live. Find a chiari specialist.
