I had to put asside my wonderfull boots this year and buy myself regular walking boots :(
I don't have any balance issue but there is no way I could walk in heels. My poor back would be screaming at me..... "Take those darn things off." "Hey I'm talking to you." LOL
i never matered heels in fact i wore flats to homecomming my last two years and still was in lots of pain lol too loud! im only five one so it kinda ***** but im not very girly anyways lol

I couldn't wear heels for months after surgery but now I am back in all of them. I can't wear them for as long as I used to but I think that is more a function of getting older than anything!!!
I have done extensive work on balance with my PT and it has made a world of difference. My nerve damaged side was in bad shape but now is almost on par with the other side and my overall balance is significantly better. I go fast down stairwells once again and no longer walk around feeling like I am going to trip on everything. If you have balance issues and haven't worked on them with a therapist, you might give it a try.

I used to wear nothing but heals. Especially my boots. But i stick to tennis shooes now. Anything else hurts my back. Due to my scholiosis i think?!
Yea,Right, cannot imagine anyone with chiari walking in heels. I would trip on first try.Have a good day!
Grrrr. Numb. Fingers on an iPhone leads to jumble sorry. That was suposed to say. Your feet will thank you later. Lol.
And Selma is right. Barefoot is great. For balance. Dancers and yoga all barefoot now. Balletflat shows very close to it. I can feel everything under my feet. I love them. (well meybe not in gravel lol)
even my 6 year old at dance they just wear this little pad thing over the ball of their foot for turns to keep from getting soars they don't wear shoes anymore. She's the one that helped me get my feeling back in my feet by telling me to get out of my chunky crocs and tennis shoes and how did she put it.... "allow my feet to "feel where they are". Lol.
Lmao. Even though right now things are going well. I still can't even wear chunky heels. Lol. Balance is terrible and pushing it in some heels is a Greek tragedy. Lol.
My ballet flats are my preferred dress shoes. Although I am short and really do miss my heels I tried on Thanksgivig and about took out the car door and the pumpkin pie. Lol. I don't notice the dizziness either. Maybe I am jut out of practice but I couldn't see the door comin at my face. My daughter caught me and the other one grabbed the pie. So I am guessing it is not that. Lol. Stick with pretty flats. Safer and your feet willtha k you in te ling run anyways. Lol
I have lots of beautiful heels and my favorites are all my leather boots that i can't wear! I just got myself flat boots this weekend. It has been Close to two years that I have not been able to wear them and I don't see it happening soon so I had to have something cute to wear :) All due to balance issues.
I am always barefoot at home always!
This is a good one Selmas ...
you know you have Chiari when.... you go out and realized your barefoot when you try to accelerate the fuel pedal! lol
I do wear high heels but not regularly. And there are times when I just can not walk in them not because of pain just my legs do not coordinate...but generally I do good in them.
I did not understand the poll response ... so I did my best!
Had to get rid of the heels to help with the balance issues....
I will mention that my DD is a dance teacher and says they teach little kids in bare feet to help with balance bcuz u get a better connection with the floor...so I walk around the house bare foot as much as possible.....
"selma"
I have a hard time walking in flat shoes currently ... Heels would be a fashion know with my chiari limp lol
