Help interpreting Cervical & Brain MRI

Could someone who knows about Brain & cervical MRI's beable to explain what this might mean?? This is a direct statement from my MRI's. I'm writing only what I don't understand.....

"There are grossly normal vascular flow voids. Minimal left mastoid fluid.

There are also some mildly prominent cervical lymph nodes bilaterally, left more than right, as well as prominence of the submandibular glands, which is likely within the broad range of normal.

There is extensive susceptibility artifact from the anterior plates and screws in the cervical spine and extensive posterior rods and screws in the cervical thoracic spine.

Under the impression: Extensive postoperative changes, both anteriorly and posteriorly within the cervical and visulalized upper thoracic spine. No spinal canal compression or definite evidence for syrinx.

Hi Selmas,

I don't have a follow up appointment, he said he'd be in touch! I just wish I could explain why things are going on like this if everything appears fine.....I wonder why it said extensive post operative changes, was that just a Captain Obvious statement (as I call them) lol? I agree this is positive news but now I'll get the dreaded look like how pathedic am I because they don't see my issues on the tests.....When I was 20 (13 years ago) I had a rheumatologist literally tell me all my problems were in my head....only to learn years later, his statement was more than true but he didn't mean it that way....Now I'm scared for life over a doctor and getting diagnostic results!!!! Here's hoping all will be ok!!
Hope you have good holidays!

Hi..well I am not an expert and out of context of the entire report it may lose meaning...but what I do understand this to say is there may be some interference from ur plates and screws  in the MRI's that is what is referenced in the  [extensive susceptibility artifact]....many times they have no idea y there appears to be an artifact, but with urs  they do.

As to the flow voids...not sure how this person writes or what was b4 this...but I can not offer comment on that...except that it sounds normal....otherwise, it would also be noted in the impressions.

And as far as that goes, it is positive....no compression of the spine or a syrinx...which is good.
As I have mentioned many times b4, these reports r opinions...and being that, they r subject to the opinion of ur NS...whom makes the final determination, unless u do not agree and seek yet another opinion.

Many times a radiologist will make small notations on the report, such as about the lymph nodes that appear to be with in normal range...but he felt compelled to mentioned that is who this radiologist is...another one may not have as they r only to report on what they were asked to look at,....if it was for a syrinx...then that could be y that is the only thing in the impression....

I have an old report and it mentions my tethered cord...it is not in the impression, and was never mentioned to me...had the radiologist not felt compelled to list it, I would not have known until I went to my NS for CM.....

From what I can gather from the info u provided it appears to be good info....

When do u see the dr?
