how to stay fit on chiari  and in shape im outgoing person just feeling like a brickwall has been put in front of me

  That is y this forum is here... we have a Monday's Rant thread and a Tuesday's treasure ...one thread for each week u can participate in them as well as create ur own thread, but u can also join in on other threads that r active and meet others here : )

  I am sure u could as I did not have surgery until I was 49....but, MRI's were not being used when I was younger so I  did not have a DX.

having one, u can get monitored to see if surgery is needed...as long as u do not have a syrinx or CSF obstruction, u may be able to go a few yrs or longer, how knows....if I had been Dx'd at ur age I am sure I would have waited to have surgery until I could no longer function...and the  last few yrs b4 my DX I was running into brick walls or felt like I was...lol... it was very difficult to keep going.... U will know,....but do find out how it is affecting u b4 u make a decision.,

I am glad i could come here and talk about it makes me feel better just feel like no one understands etc friends family. But is it possible to live your whole life with out getting surgery?? and live to be old ? im only 24

  Chiari symptoms do cycle so it is not uncommon for the symptoms to come and go....and we all deal with sinus issues as it is in a small space also being compressed as a result of the Chiari.

Stress will cause ur symptoms to flare that is for sure....

B4 u decide to manage the symptoms do  have more testing to see just how this is affecting ur overall health.

well my symptons are there but i could manage them i been having headaches for the last month i go a few days with out them but then they come back i been under a lot of stress with this whole situation. i have a bad sinus infection so my neuro gave me some meds too see if thats the cause of the headaches but i think its from the chiari

  Hi....the only Chiari Drs r surgeons and if u do not require surgery u will need a good PCP or a neurologist- NL....we have a list of NS...and it is not a referral but u can use the list to research Drs and see if they know who u could see for more testing and to monitor ur condition....ur other post implied u did not have many symptoms so I am not sure mayb I misunderstood what is going on with u??? The only one I can think of in Fl is a Dr B,. Green...down in Miami.,
