I am a week post-op today!

I just wondered how everyone felt at this point? I feel pain but it is a different pain so I am hoping this is a good sign! I'm trying not to over do it which is hard for me with having 4 kids and everyone relying on me.

Hi!I am almost 3 weeks post op. It helps me to ask my dh what improvements he sees each day because sometimes they are so small I miss them . I do not have children @ home and my heart goes out to all of you recovering with young families. I am still fearful of a leak but I try not to borrow worry about it.
At this point it is difficult to separate the the pains that may be chiari related from those that could be med related. I think these may not have explanations until I am off meds. I do see slight improvements each day now. I Auntijune

Hi,

I'm just over two weeks post op and the difference between the second and first weeks is incredible.

At a week post op I was still in hospital as I had been vomiting every night and was in a lot of pain. There were a few mornings where I just lay in bed crying because I didn't think I could take it any more.

Just over a week later and I haven't been sick in days, this morning I woke and  up for the first time in a very long time was able to sit up right away, there was no back or neck pain and the mildest of headaches. I am also tapering off my medication.

I've found its easier to measure my progress every few days rather than day by day and it does get easier. One thing I will say and apologies if this is an overshare - if you find that you're constipated try and sort it out as soon as possible. I wasn't worried as its normal for me to only have a BM once a week or so...its now been 18 days and its horrible!

I understand what u r goin thru. I am 7 weeks post op now. I was left alone just a week post op and its sucked. Its hard to have to even get up to get food.I've had 2 surgeries now and by the 2nd week was like everyone left me alone to get my own stuff and fend for myself. It does cause setbacks for I feel I should feel better by now but because I've done so much already, I'm not better. Rest, rest, rest.......I'm probly gonna have to go back to work soon because bf isn't doing all he can to take care of bills, ugh

  Hi welcome back !!

It is possible to not feel many of ur more prevalent symptoms and feel great except for surgical pains.....but, that can be the result of all the drugs and meds u have had so far....as I say to everyone it is possible to have a set back from doing too much at this point....u need to rest....rest, then rest some more...walking is good, and ur neck exercises to avoid stiff muscles and scar tissue from forming....

U need to get creative in getting the kids to do more and help u.....

  Take it easy <3
