Insurance appeals due to denial

I was wondering if anyone else has had to file an appeal to an insurance denial. I have to file an appeal due to the insurance company denying my having two of the three MRIs that the Chiari doc needs to do his evaluation.  They want me to have the specialist ORDER the MRI... well, they can't because they aren't my doc... yet!  I have written a rougn draft, and that is part of my explanation to them.  I also intend to send a list of Chiari docs for them to call if they need verification of what I'm telling them.  I have talked to 4 Chiair docs offices and they all request the exact same MRIs.

Anyone have any advice for writing the appeal?  I appreciate any feedback!

Hi..sorry no issues getting the MRI's done...my PCP was very good at seeing I had the tests done that my chiari dr requested.

Some chiari drs will forward an RX for the tests especially if u plan to go to them ...so schedule an appointment and ask them to fax the RX of tests to ur PCP and insurance comp.

I was able to get the RX b4 going...I am sure u can too.....just ask and tell them the insurance has denied it.....they r used to dealing with ins cos.
