Is there anything I can do besides surgery to help with Chiari symptoms?

I was diagnosed over a year ago.  No blockage, measured 13mm.  My main issue is migraines.  Migraines that will put me to the floor and feel like my head is going to explode.  I turn bright red, veins buldge, eyes bloodshot, and have to lay down immediately.  I feel I may pass out one day.  My other issue is that I have cystic fibrosis, with that comes coughing.  Coughing is not a friend of Chiari :(  I went to the neurosurgeon and he stated that he wanted to do surgery.  I did not want surgery as I have a 3 year old and a military hubby.  He refused to do any other treatment as surgery was the only option.  I should probably get a second opinion but I can't seem to find anyone who deals with Chiari specifically.  Recently my neck and shoulders are starting to get very weak and I have severe lock jaw (not sure if that's related) as well as the feeling that my ears ring and are full of fluid.  ENT says I have no issues.  I just can't get any relief.

Hi Kortnie05 and welcome to the Chiari forum.

We do have a list of Drs for you to use to research Drs....to have a starting point...not all the Drs may be true Chiari specialists and we do not refer or endorse any on the lists....

The list was compiled by the members here of Drs they have been to, treated by and liked....to find the right one for you, you will need to research them and see a few to compare and see what is right for you.

Have you ruled out ALL related conditions?
